It was in a secluded location, in the area I wanted to be. The hotel met requirements, I would love to return.

Quaint and stylish accommodation with unbeatable setting close to Douglas Family Preserve and markets and other amenities. Very good breakfast in the restaurant to start the day. Nice design, excellant service in the entire hotel. Outdoor bar and heated pool...
Beds were way too hard.

We were very surprised that for the price we paid there wasn't a small fridge, microwave or decent coffee pot in room. Also, there wasn't even a paper at the door Sunday morning. Unit was clean but for nearly $200. a night definitely not worth the money. I will stay at an actual resort next time for very little more.
No microwave, fridge, coffee pot or morning local paper basic items I expect to find in a motel/inn

Just stayed overnight in 2 rooms. One room had not been cleaned, previous residents food still in fridge, housekeeping not done and ants everywhere. They changed room for us after we had to go back to reception as only one person on checkin desk. Then on check out charged good life fee ($28per room) for WiFi which is NOT FREE even though stated free on website and use of facilities (which we did not use, swimming pool, fitness room, yoga mat in room!)
Decor was quirky!!
Extra charges for facilities which should be included in the room price or charged only if used! WiFi password given but we were not told it was chargeable. On day we checked out tea and coffee and pastry was complimentary as there was a convention. Letter was on the desk. Then why were we charged for good life fee???

The staff was pleasant, outdoor patio near resturant was nice. I liked the latge bottles of shampoo and body wash! location close to freeway
The beds were horrible to sleep on, I will never stay here again! The rooms were really old platform beds with really uncomfortable mattresses! rooms on outside of bluidings view of parking lot with old dingy role up shades, courtyard side poolside better!

Perfect for roadtrippers looking for comfort
We were welcomed with a cold beer at check-in. The fire pits by the pool, with drinks in hand, made it easy to unwind after a long drive. The whole atmosphere was chill and pleasant, exactly what you need after traveling.
Not exactly cheap, but worth it for the experience.

The Goodland has lots of great spaces so you do not need to leave the hotel to relax or keep occupied. They have games, fire pits, movie nights, big pool, record library.
The food left ALOT to be desired. I would not suggest eating at the restaurant. Cocktails were fine. The hotel itself is also overpriced, it was cute and I enjoyed myself, but I wouldn't go back for that price.

The free wine at happy hour was nice. The staff seemed very friendly and the design of the hotel was cute and fun. The beds were comfortable and tv channel selections great. Loved the free bicycles on offer, as well as the plentiful lounges by the pool.
There isn't an option to have food sent to your room, despite the fact that there is a bar and restaurant onsite. The checkout process took an hour because of the need to resolve a charge mistake on our bill (not our fault, accidental charge by the restaurant). While very kind, the staff seemed in no rush to help fix the problem. The location, off a main road in Goleta, surrounded by gas stations and strip malls was a little strange.

I liked the theme, I liked the location, it had a really nice vibe...
The hotel was very run down, very busy, very loud, the room was warm and dark and stains were on the bathrobe, there was no mattress pad cover on the bed. I tried to call room service two times and kept getting cut off. I would not stay there again and I alway choose Kimpton.

The staff was cute and even gave us complimentary beers upon arrival, a nice touch. Plus, the surrounding area has great eateries and a grocery store, especially with our dog in tow.
My wife says that a small coffee station in the lobby would elevate the experience for families like ours.

The patio
No coffee making facilities in room.Morning coffee arrangements at Goodboy Bar are abysmal, coffee running out, staff unable to cope. The restaurant was overpriced for the limited menu choice and indifferent quality. Room ok and comfortable but furnishings quite basic. A pretensious hotel which is very over priced for what is on offer. We would not return

The restaurant had a lot of various options and a thoughtful menu. The record players were a bonus. The staff was helpful and kind.
The walls were a little thin and could hear neighbors.
